Faculty of Agriculture at Tanta University Produces First Batch of Banana Seedlings Using Tissue Culture Technology

    In a step that proves the scientific and practical advancement at Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Research and Experiments Center—under the supervision of Prof. Talaat Khedr El-Rayis—has presented its first batch of banana seedlings produced using tissue culture techniques. This initiative comes as part of the faculty’s efforts to support agricultural projects and promote the applications of biotechnology in plant production.

   The seedlings were handed over during an official event attended by:

▪️ Engr. Asmaa Hafez – In charge of the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory

   This achievement marks an important development toward expanding the production of disease-free seedlings that meet international standards, thereby contributing to supporting farmers and the local agricultural sector.

   Moreover, the laboratory also announced the opening of reservations for ornamental plant seedlings produced within the lab, as part of its expansion in research and production services.
