The inauguration ceremony was also attended by several deans of faculties: Prof. Mamdouh El-Masry, Acting Dean of Faculty of Arts; Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Dean of Faculty of Science; and Prof. Nancy El-Hefnawy, Acting Dean of Faculty of Computer and Information; as well as a number of vice deans, including Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Community Public Services; Prof. Yasser Abdo, Manager of the University’s Innovation Unit; and Prof. Mohamed El-Qasir, General Manager of the General Administration of Student Welfare at the university.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud welcomed the University President, the attending deans, and managers of the university’s units, expressing his delight that the Faculty of Agriculture is hosting the inauguration of the First National Forum on Sustainable Innovation with the participation of students from 20 Egyptian universities. He affirmed that this forum is a good opportunity for exchanging ideas and finding applicable solutions to some problems. He added that it also fosters innovative and creative thinking, reaping the benefit of applicable small-scale projects aligned with the Egyptian state’s vision for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, expressed his great pleasure at attending the inauguration of the forum at Faculty of Agriculture, confirming that this gathering is not a passing event but rather a launching point toward new avenues for idea exchange and the development of applicable solutions to existing challenges.

Moreover, University President asserted that this direction is fully consistent with the Egyptian state’s vision and national strategy, which gives youth a high priority as partners in nation-building.

He also praised the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in launching various initiatives that support innovation and entrepreneurship, link scientific research with productive sectors, and promote small projects — such as the “Be Ready” initiative, whose activities are currently hosted by Tanta University at three different sites within its campus. This initiative, he noted, aims to build the cognitive and practical capacities of students to meet the evolving demands of the labor market. With the international partnerships of this initiative, it stands as a model for preparing a generation of graduates capable of competing not only locally but also globally.
