At Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, under the leadership of Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Faculty Dean, the Department of Plant Protection, hosted the public defense of the Master’s thesis submitted by Researcher Fatema Hassan Mahmoud Khalifa on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

    The thesis is submitted for gaining the Master’s degree of in Agricultural Sciences, specializing in Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, under the title:

“Efficacy of Certain Chemical Materials Against Stored Product Insects”

The Supervisory Committee included:

• Prof. Sobhy Abdel Rahim Hamed – Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, and Head of the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University

• Dr. Mostafa El-Sayed Al-Ebiary – Senior Researcher, Department of Stored Grain Pests, Plant Protection Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Sakha, Kafr El-Sheikh

The Judgement and Discussion Committee consisted of:

• Prof. Sobhy Abdel Rahim Hamed – Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, and Head of the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University (Committee Chairman and Supervisor)

• Prof. Tamer Madih Abdo Youssef Ismail – Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, and Head of the Department of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, Faculty of Agriculture, Kafr El-Sheikh University (External Examiner)

• Dr. Mostafa El-Sayed Al-Ebiary – Senior Researcher, Department of Stored Grain Pests, Plant Protection Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center (Supervisor)

• Assist. Prof. Abdel Aziz El-Sayed Abdel Aziz Keshk – Assistant Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University (Internal Examiner)

   The committee discussed the thesis in depth and commended its scientific quality and content. They recommended that the researcher be awarded the Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences in the specialization of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology.

   The defense was attended by Prof. Raafat Abu Arab, Professor of Stored Grain Pests, Plant Protection Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, as well as several colleagues from the Sakha Research Center, academic staff members, teaching assistants, postgraduate students, and the researcher’s family.
