"Comparative Engineering Studies about Drying Plums and Thompson Seedless Grapes Using Different Systems" – Master's Thesis at Tanta Faculty of Agriculture

    Under the auspices of Prof. Essawy Qassem, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University, the public defense of the master's thesis submitted by Ms. Eman Samy Helal Nasir, Demonstrator at the Department of Agricultural Engineering, was held at the department, chaired by Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim, on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

    The researcher is registered for the Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences – Agricultural Engineering. Her thesis is entitled:

"Comparative Engineering Studies for Drying Plums and Thompson Seedless Grapes Using Different Systems."

Supervisory Committee:

• Prof. Mohamed Ramadan Darwish – Professor of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University, and Vice Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology and Energy – Samannud Technological University.

• Dr. Mohamed Said Ghoneim – Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering and Acting Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University.

• Dr. Mai Mohamed Hamed Amer – Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University.

Judgement and Discussion Committee:

• Prof. Tarek Zaki Fouda – Emeritus Professor of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University (Internal Examiner and Chairman).

• Prof. Nasser Mostafa Abdel-Rahman El-Ashmawy – Emeritus Research Head, Agricultural Engineering Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center (External Examiner).

• Prof. Mohamed Ramadan Darwish – Professor of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University (Supervisory Committee Representative).

• Dr. Mohamed Said Ghoneim – Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University (Supervisory Committee Representative).

Attendance:

The defense was honored by the presence of Prof. Asaad Derbala – Professor of Agricultural Engineering and former Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, along with several academic staff members, assistant staff, postgraduate students from the department and the faculty, and the researcher's family.

    The researcher presented the findings of her study, and the committee engaged in a thorough discussion of the thesis content. She successfully responded to all questions and received praise for her efforts, as well as recognition of the effective guidance provided by the supervisory committee to make the thesis a scientifically distinguished work.

   At the end of the defense, the committee recommended awarding the researcher the Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, in the specialization of Agricultural Engineering.
