At Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University, and under the patronage of Prof. Essawy Qassem, Faculty Dean, the public defense of the PhD dissertation submitted by Hala Abu El-Magd Suleiman Abdel Sattar was held at the Department of Plant Protection on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

The researcher is registered for the PhD degree in Agricultural Sciences – Economic Entomology (Honey Bees). Her dissertation is entitled:

"A Study on the Effect of Pollen on Queen Rearing in Honey Bees."

Supervisory Committee:

• Prof. Ibrahim Ibrahim Hassan Mesbah – Emeritus Professor of Economic Entomology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Dr. Haitham Mahmoud Ramadan – Assistant Professor of Economic Entomology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Dr. Khaled Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Hamid – Senior Researcher, Agricultural Research Center, Plant Protection Research Unit – Bee Research Department, Al-Sobhia, Alexandria.

Judgement and Discussion Committee:

• Prof. Hosni Abdel-Gawad Sharaf El-Din – Emeritus Professor of Economic Entomology and Honey Bee Breeding, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Menoufia University.

• Prof. Ibrahim Ibrahim Hassan Mesbah – Emeritus Professor of Economic Entomology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Prof. Sobhy Abdel-Rahim Hamed – Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

   The researcher presented the results of her study, which were thoroughly discussed by the committee. She successfully answered all the questions posed. The committee commended the scientific effort exerted by the researcher and the supervisory team, as well as the high quality and distinction of the dissertation.

    At the end of the defense, the committee recommended awarding the researcher the PhD degree in Agricultural Sciences – Economic Entomology (Honey Bees).
