At Faculty of Agriculture – Tanta University, the public defense of the PhD dissertation submitted by researcher Hayam Mohamed El-Sayed Abu El-Ela was held under the patronage of Prof. Essawy Qassem, Faculty Dean, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The defense was hosted by the Department of Agricultural Economics, headed by Prof. Abdel-Baqi Mossa El-Shayeb.

    The researcher is registered for the PhD degree in Agricultural Sciences, majoring in Agricultural Economics. Her dissertation is entitled:

"The Role of the Egyptian Agricultural Bank in Financing Livestock Activities in the Arab Republic of Egypt"

The Supervisory Committee included:

• Prof. Abdel-Baqi Mossa El-Shayeb – Professor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Prof. Ahmed Maher El-Gohary – Professor of Agricultural Extension, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Prof. Rania Ahmed Mohamed – Professor of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

The Judgement and Discussion Committee consisted of distinguished scientists in the field of economics:

• Prof. Walid Omar Nassar – Professor of Agricultural Economics and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University.

• Prof. Abdel-Baqi Mossa El-Shayeb – Professor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Prof. Rania Ahmed Mohamed – Professor of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

• Assist. Prof. Amira Mostafa Hamza – Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.

   The defense was held in the presence of several esteemed academic staff members, including Prof. Adel Helal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, Prof. Mohamed Gaber Amer, Prof. Yasser Mazro’, Prof. Nabil El-Shaeiry, Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary, Prof. Essam Mohamed El-Baaly, in addition to academic staff, postgraduate students, and the researcher’s family.

Also in attendance was Engineer Abdel-Salam El-Baghdadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in Gharbia Governorate.

   The researcher presented the findings of her study, which were thoroughly discussed by the committee. She successfully addressed all the questions raised. The committee commended the quality of the work and praised both the researcher and the supervisory team for their efforts in producing such a distinguished dissertation.

   At the end of the defense, the committee recommended awarding the researcher the PhD degree in Agricultural Sciences, in the specialization of Agricultural Economics.
