The scientific and production achievements of the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, continue to grow, under the patronage of Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Adel Helal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Talaat Khedr El-Rais, Director of the Agricultural Research and Experimentation Center, and under the supervision of Prof. Rania El-Shal, Director of the Central Laboratory at the faculty, with the follow-up of Engr. Asmaa Hafez, Head of the Plant Tissue Culture Unit, and Engr. Soheila Emara, Plant Tissue Culture Engineer. As part of its ongoing efforts to promote biotechnology applications and plant production, the laboratory has successfully delivered a batch of Philodendron Imperial plants, which were produced entirely using advanced plant tissue culture techniques.
This work is part of the laboratory’s ongoing efforts to apply micropropagation techniques, with the aim of:
• Producing healthy ornamental plants that are completely free from diseases and pests.
• Ensuring a high degree of plant uniformity and quality.
• Supporting production and applied activities and linking scientific research with community service in accordance with the highest standards of scientific quality.
Our goal is to provide an advanced research and production environment that serves the community and supports sustainable development.
