In the framework of Tanta University’s commitment to supporting excellence and innovation in scientific research and encouraging postgraduate students to conduct outstanding research of scientific and applied value, the Faculty of Agriculture is pleased to announce the results of the second stage of the Research Excellence Competition for Postgraduate Students, following the completion of the judging and evaluation process in accordance with the competition’s approved rules and criteria. The results were as follows:
🥇 First Place at the Faculty Level:
Researcher: Mahmoud Shawky El-Hosary, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.
Research Title:
“Machine Learning-Driven Assessment of Biochemical Qualities in Tomato and Mandarin Using RGB and Hyperspectral Sensors as Nondestructive Technologies”
🥈 Second Place at the Faculty Level:
Researcher: Mostafa Ibrahim Selim, holder of a Master’s degree, Department of Soil and Water, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University.
Research Title:
“Effect of Integration of Poultry Manure and Vinasse on the Abundance and Diversity of Soil Fauna, Soil Fertility Index, and Barley (Hordeum aestivum L.) Growth in Calcareous Soils”
The Faculty of Agriculture, under the leadership of Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Faculty Dean, along with the Vice Deans, faculty members, assistant staff, undergraduate students at all four levels, and postgraduate students, extends its sincere congratulations to the winning researchers for their achievements at the faculty level.
It is worth noting that:
The first-place winner at the faculty level will qualify to participate in the Final Scientific Forum of the Research Excellence Competition for Postgraduate Students at Tanta University, scheduled to be held, God willing, on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The first-place winners from the university’s faculties will compete to determine the first-, second-, and third-place winners at the university level.
