Launch of the “Energy & Environment” Track for Sixth-Stage Students in the Child University Program

   Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, Tanta University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), as part of the activities of Tanta University’s Child University Program, Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Faculty Dean, welcomed sixth-stage students participating in the Child University Program on Tuesday morning, August 18, 2026, accompanied by Prof. Adel Helal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Mai Mohamed Amer, the faculty’s Child University Coordinator. The event was also attended by Prof. Rania El-Shal, Director of the faculty’s Central Laboratory, and several faculty members. The event marked the launch of the “Energy & Environment” track.

   The day’s program included a scientific lecture entitled “Food Web and Energy Pyramid,” through which the children gained a deeper understanding of food chains and food webs among living organisms and how energy is transferred from one organism to another. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ebaa Ibrahim Mira, who holds a PhD in Food Science and Technology.

   The program also included a tour of the faculty, during which the students visited the Central Laboratory and Food Processing Laboratory, accompanied by Prof. Adel Helal, Vice Dean for Community Service, and Asst. Prof. Mai Mohamed Amer, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering at the faculty and the faculty’s Child University Coordinator.

   The Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development emphasized the faculty’s commitment to providing all the necessary resources to ensure a successful Child University experience and to simplifying fundamental scientific concepts for students. He noted that these efforts help create a university environment that encourages learning, discovery, and creativity, develops scientific thinking and innovation skills, and connects theoretical knowledge with practical application.
