At Tanta Faculty of Agriculture, under the patronage of Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Faculty Dean, and Prof. Amgad Abdel Ghaffar El-Gammal, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and hosted by the Department of Plant Protection, headed by Prof. Sobhy Abdel Rahim Hamed, the public defense of the master's thesis submitted by Researcher Ghaidaa Hamed Ahmed Kandil, Demonstrator at the Department of Plant Protection, was held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The researcher was registered for the Master’s degree of Agricultural Sciences (Plant Protection – Economic Entomology).
The thesis was entitled:
"Studies on Some Arthropods in Potato Fields at El-Gharbia Governorate."

• Prof. Reda Abdel Monsef Ahmed Ibrahim, Professor and Head of the Department of Economic Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, Kafrelsheikh University (Committee Chair and External Examiner).
• Prof. Sobhy Abdel Rahim Hamed, Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology and Head of the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University (Internal Examiner).
• Prof. Mohamed Fadel Mahmoud El-Sheikh, Professor of Economic Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University (representing the Supervision Committee).

The committee conducted an in-depth scientific discussion of the thesis, during which the researcher successfully answered all questions. The committee commended the outstanding scientific quality and content of the thesis and recommended awarding her the Master’s degree of Agricultural Sciences (Plant Protection – Economic Entomology).
The defense was attended by a distinguished gathering of faculty members, teaching assistants, postgraduate researchers and students, in addition to the researcher's family and friends.
