At Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, under the patronage of Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Faculty Dean, and Prof. Amgad Abdel Ghaffar El-Gammal, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and hosted by the Department of Land and Water, the public defense of the master's thesis submitted by Researcher Shorouk Samir Abdel Fattah El-Ghoreiby, registered for the Master’s degree of Agricultural Sciences (Soils), was held on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
The thesis was entitled:
"Impact of Biochar-Modified Vinasse Application on Soil Properties and Spinach Production in Sandy Soil."

• Prof. Ahmed Abdel Khaleq El-Refaie, Professor of Soils and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Desert and Environmental Agriculture, Matrouh University (External Examiner).
• Prof. Ahmed Abdel Fattah El-Baroudy, Professor of Soil Pedology, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University (Internal Examiner).
• Prof. Abdel Halim Awad Abdel Halim, Professor of Soil Physics and Soil Water Relations, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University (representing the Supervision Committee).
The committee conducted an in-depth scientific discussion of the thesis, during which the researcher responded successfully to all questions. The committee commended the scientific value and quality of the thesis and recommended awarding her the Master’s degree of Agricultural Sciences (Soils).
The defense was attended by a distinguished gathering of faculty members, teaching assistants, postgraduate researchers and students, in addition to the researcher's family and friends.
