Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, Tanta University President, a cooperation agreement was signed between Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Abdel Aziz Belal, Chairman of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS). This agreement aims to foster collaboration in conducting research and applied projects involving artificial intelligence, remote sensing technologies, and geographic information systems (GIS) to support sustainable agricultural development goals in Egypt.
Prof. Essawy Qassem Mahmoud affirmed that this protocol reflects the faculty’s commitment to engaging with national research institutions and enhancing strategic partnerships that support the state’s sustainable development plans. He further noted that Tanta University places significant importance on the applications of AI and modern technologies across various sectors, particularly within the agricultural sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by several distinguished representatives from the faculty, including Prof. Adel Helal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ahmed Abdel Fattah Al-Baroudy, Professor of Soil Pedology and the agreement coordinator; and Prof. Mahmoud Ibrahim, Professor of Soil and Water, alongside a group of faculty members. Representing the Authority was Prof. Abdel Raouf Masoud, Research Professor in the Department of Agricultural Applications and the protocol coordinator for NARSS.
